Pitter-patter,
pitter-patter. I looked up at the dark grey sky, raindrops splashing onto my
thick-framed glasses. With one pale hand, I removed them and tried to wipe it
with my jacket’s sleeve, my attempt being in vain.
Teenagers
around me ran as they tried to get to shelter. I stood up from the bench, the
park being almost abandoned by people. I clasped the black backpack by my side
and slung it over my shoulder.
I began
to trudge my way home, which was only at Wellington street. My cerulean blue
eyes scanned looked down to the black watch on my wrist. Five minutes past
seven. Lev will surely be upset.
Lev,
also known as Levon, is my stepbrother. My mother and Lev’s father got married
just last year. Lev and I have been close since we met. We just get along well.
Since our parents are away for a business trip, the two of us have the whole
house alone.
As I
reached a block away from my house, a horn honked at me. I turned to see a red
Lamborgini, the window rolled down to reveal a group of teenagers in crop tops,
short shorts, and girls wearing absolutely too much make up.
“Enjoying
the weather, Lucas?” the girl behind the wheel, Jennette, sneered. “Your name
being Rain and all, I’m sure you’re enjoying this.”
“Maybe
she’s the one who made it rain!” proclaimed the other girl, Britney at the
passenger’s seat. “Lucas being a demon, and all.”
“If
you Leams are done spreading the word that I’m the devil,” I said, my tone
clipped. “I would prefer for you all to leave, so I can go home.”
Leam
Rigns, or Leam for short, is practically the most popular group in school. They
go around in their million dollar cars wearing almost exactly the same clothes,
the girls wearing tight fitted or short clothes, the guys wearing very loose
clothes that look ridiculous.
The
reason why they’re popular in our school, and practically the whole town?
Either they’re rich, or they are known for getting into trouble.
Lev
and I belong to Loid Scok, or Loids. We’re basically the people who everyone
ignores. It’s not that we’re anti-social or something. We just chose to be
invisible to people. We like keeping quiet and doing our own business within
our group. Sadly, the Leams enjoy tormenting Loid, seeing us as ‘prey-worthy’
“Oh,
Lucas.” Jennette threw her head back as she let out an almost with-like laugh.
“You should feel honoured to be in our presence, you little Loid.”
“How
can you Leams still talk with all that make up making you look like clowns?” I
sighed. I just want to go home, really.
“Tch.
You are such a freak.” Hissed Jennette.
Before
I could react, the Lamborgini’s wheel turned, the puddle of water and grime by
the road spraying me, making me soaked to the bone. The Leams laughed as they
drove off, leaving me dripping wet.
I
sighed, dragging myself home. Leams truly enjoy tormenting us.
As I
reached the house, I turned the knob of the door, the door already being
unlocked.
“Rain
Xandra Lucas!” Lev rushed towards me by the door, face a mix of frustration and
worry. “Where have you been, and why are you dripping wet?”
He
was wearing a red and black hoodie with gray sweats and black socks. Lev’s
thick-rimmed glasses were perched on his nose, Lev stating before that it makes
him feel smart.
“Hello
to you too, Levon Xavier Lucas.” I threw my soaked backpack on the sofa. “I’ll
just stay here and freeze for a while, alright?”
“Ugh,”
Lev threw at towel on the sofa at me. “I prepared tea, if you want.”
“Yeah,
thanks.” I rubbed the towel on my black hair as I sat down on the sofa, my
older blonde stepbrother poured tea in the cup in front of me.
“Mind
telling me what happened?” he asked as he pushed the cup towards my direction.
“I
was just at the park after school.” I set the towel down beside me as I picked
up the teacup. “It began to rain, so I decided to go back. I was a block away
when some Leams decided to have a chat with me.”
“Jennette
and her clown clique?” Lev sneered as I nodded, sipping from the cup. “What did
they say this time?”
“Nothing
new really,” I shrugged. “Just me being the devil and making it rain. Getting
old already actually.”
Lev
nodded, motioning me to continue. “Basically they just called me the devil and
ran over a puddle, so here I am. Soaked and stained.”
“Brats,”
hiss Lev, his light blue eyes going cold. “And to think we’ll see them tomorrow
at school.”
Right. There’s school tomorrow. And I may or may
not have gotten sick by the Leams’ present. Perfect. Just perfect.

So this is the story for an English project thing in school. It's just a small part of the story though. Not really my best writing, but my teacher thought it was nice. And I think she was genuine (hopefully). Nothing special, just yeah. Wanted to share.
